Dr. Paul O'BrienDr. Paul O’Brien is an academic surgeon who runs the Centre of Bariatric Surgery (CBS) in Melbourne, Australia, and is also the Director of the Centre for Obesity Research and Education (CORE) at Monash University in Melbourne. Through his clinical and research work with CBS and CORE, Dr. O’Brien has become a world-leader in the Lap Band procedure and care of the Lap Band patient.

Since playing a key role in the development of the Lap Band in the early 1990s, Dr. O’Brien has not only used it in his clinical practice, but has continued to perform extensive relevant research.
