| The American Institute of Gastric Banding (AIGB) is an industry leading network of health care professionals specializing in the treatment and care for morbid obesity, with the most comprehensive system for the treatment of obesity, through a network of physicians, health care professionals, surgical centers, and support & aftercare resources, specializing in the LAP-Band procedure.
We are growing rapidly with the implementation of our True Results program and currently have immediate openings for an NP or PA for our programs in Houston, TX, Phoenix, AZ, and Atlanta, GA.
This is an opportunity to be involved in all aspects of care of bariatric Lap-Band patients. Responsibilities include adjustments to the Lap-Band via a mediport by palpation &/or by using fluoroscopy, long term follow-up teaching and patient management, preoperative consultations including history, physical exams & diagnostic testing, and program development. Strong clinical skills, an affinity for procedures, an interest in health education, and an ability to communicate with a diverse patient population are all a must.
A background in critical-care, special-procedures, or radiology is preferred, but we are willing to train those motivated to care for our patient population. Must be BLS & ACLS certified within 30 days of employment. - Call Center Representative

AIGB is a network of physicians, healthcare professionals, surgical centers, support resources and aftercare specialists dedicated to getting your life back on track. AIGB surgeons have performed more procedures than any group in the United States.
This position is responsible for responding to inbound calls and making outbound follow-up calls to potential patients. Representatives will present information and answer questions regarding the Lap-Band surgical procedure. Representatives will ensure that callers receive timely, courteous and high quality customer service.
- Professionally answer telephone and internet inquiries to qualify prospective candidates, determine the manner in which they learned about AIGB and/or our affiliates. Serve as the prospect’s advocate and advisor by guiding them through the educational and preoperative process.
- Schedule prospective candidate for preoperative appointment or a seminar presentation based on the comfort and awareness level of the caller
- Collect marketing, healthcare and finance information as directed by management
- Reminder telephone calls for seminar attendance and preoperative appointments prior to the date of the seminar or preoperative appointment
- Follow-up with prospects missing seminars or appointment immediately after the missed seminar or appointment and reschedule as appropriate
- Perform other duties as directed by management
- 70% of the time taking inbound calls
- 20% of the time making outbound follow-up calls
- 10% performing administrative duties
Preferred skills:
- 2 or more years working in a call center environment preferably in a soft sales or reservation setting capacity
- 2 or more years of Customer service experience
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, and Excel specifically)
Requirements include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be flexible for scheduling any hours, days, nights, holidays, and weekends
- Steady job history
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to sit in front of a PC monitor for extended periods of time

Function:
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting nursing staff in the efficient care of the
patient in Pre-Op, PACU, and Fill Center.
Responsible for understanding, supporting, and implementing the philosophy and policies
of the Surgery Center of Richardson (SCOR).
Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment.
Provides safe, effective delivery of age specific patient care in compliance with standards
outlined in the facility procedure manual, as well as regulations set forth by the company,
state and federal agencies.
Job Duties Include:
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for the performance of all of the duties listed.
The distribution of effort between the duties listed can be expected to vary according to
the need and to individual assignments, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or
Licensed Nurse Practitioner:
1. Demonstrates applicable knowledge of policies and procedures related to the
Medical Assistant.
2. Takes vital signs and weight for all fill and unfilled patients with appropriate documentation; may assist RN in Pre-Op and PACU in taking vital signs as directed.
3. Appropriately reports to RN any vital signs outside of established limits, as set by the
RN or Physician.
4. Correctly positions fill patients in preparation for fluoroscopy.
5. Prepares supplies for fills/unfills.
6. Can back-up receptionist in checking in fill patients.
7. Faxes a copy of fill record to primary physician''s office.
8. Assists in maintaining a neat, orderly, and well stocked assigned area.
9. Utilizes supplies in a cost effective and efficient manner.
10. Assists, as directed by RN, with transporting patients to radiology for barium swallows
or, upon discharge, escorts patient to transportation.
11. Assists in maintaining a clean environment by changing linens on stretchers or
treatment tables while disinfecting appropriately and cleaning other spills as needed.
12. Maintains a safe environment for self, patients, and staff by utilizing proper body
mechanics, and following universal infection control precautions and cleaning
procedures under OSHA regulation.
13. Reports any significant observations, information or change in patient condition to
Registered Nurse or Physician.
14. Performs or assists in the performance of all emergency operational procedures,
including the evacuation of patients in the event of fire and/or disaster.
15. Actively participates, as directed, in the care, routine cleaning, and use of equipment.
16. Assists in CQI projects with the health care team.
17. Reports all equipment, supply problems, new or unusual incidents, information, and
complaints appropriately and according to policy to supervisor.
18. Communicates effectively with physicians, supervisor, co-workers, patients, and
families.
19. Actively participates in facility staff meetings and in-services.
20. Cooperates/assists the Director of Nursing in staff scheduling, including
rotation, to ensure adequate coverage.
21. Assumes responsibility and utilizes opportunities for personal and professional
growth.
22. Promotes, supports, and adheres to all policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
23. Acts as a resource person for other staff members within their scope of practice.
24. Performs additional duties and is responsible for specific projects that are assigned
according to ability and experience, by the Director of Nursing.
Machines, Equipment & Work Aids:
Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of all ancillary and emergency
equipment utilized in the facility such as: computer, sphygmomanometer, glucometers,
scale, electronic thermometers, IV infusion pump, code cart, suction machine, and oxygen
administration equipment.

Environmental Conditions:
Exposure to potentially hazardous/infectious materials include: bloodborne pathogens,
communicable diseases, sharp instruments and contaminated equipment, chemicals listed
in the MSDS Manual, frequent contact with fumes, odors, mists and liquids, and
radiation.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Education in physical sciences and/or training in laboratory techniques preferred.
3. Certification preferred.
4. 1 year direct patient care experience preferred.
5. Valid CPR healthcare certification required.
6. Valid driver''s license and insurance, if travel by car needed for company business.
7. Computer knowledge desirable.
Job Relationships:
Supervised by Director of Nursing, Registered Professional Nurse
Interaction with other direct care staff, as well as support staff, physicians, and the
management team.

Responsibilities:
The Lap Band Advocate will provide direct patient support and be the point of contact for patients assigned to them and perform the following duties:
* Assist patient with acquiring financing/insurance benefits
* Point of contact to patient for assistance through the process
* Would attend local seminars or expositions to meet prospective patients and generate community awareness
* Conduct local seminars to meet prospective patients
* Knowledge of the True Results program and Lap-Band system
* Inquire both in person and by telephone to ensure proper follow-up before and after surgery

* Coordinate organizational resources for seminars
* Participate in providing input and guidance for patients before and after surgery

* Monitor, coordinate, and update tracking systems
