Alex Esquivel, M.D. has been providing surgery services in Austin since moving from Omaha, Nebraska, in 2001, where he held the position of Assistant Professor of the Department of Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. His surgical emphasis is on advanced laparoscopic surgery and endocrine and breast surgery.
He received his Doctor of Medicine from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in 1994. He also received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida in 1990.
Dr. Esquivel is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He holds memberships in the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Esquivel speaks fluent Spanish.
