John J. Gonzalez, M.D.

Dr. Gonzalez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and attended Central Catholic High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford University.

He then attended The College of Physicians & Surgeons at Columbia University where he was awarded his Medical Degree. His residency in General Surgery was completed at Harvard University/Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Gonzalez received advanced laparoscopic training under the tutelage of world-renowned laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Morris Franklin at the Texas Endosurgery Institute. During his 2-year fellowship at TEI, he received additional training at the Institut de Recherche Contre les Cancers de l'Appareil Digestif, a minimally invasive surgery center in Strasbourg, France.

He also studied foregut and weight loss surgery at the Wakefield Clinic under Dr. Richard Stubbs in Wellington, New Zealand. Dr. Gonzalez is board certified in general surgery with the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.

Dr. Gonzalez is currently a staff surgeon at the Texas Endosurgery Institute and a consultant in bariatric surgery at Innova Hospital-San Antonio. He is affiliated with the AIGB network of surgeons who have performed more LAP-BAND surgeries than any other group in the nation with a safety record that is one of the best in the industry.

Gerardo Cárcamo, M.D.

Dr. Gerardo E. Cárcamo received his Bachelor of Arts in Physiology from the University of California at Berkeley before earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California at San Francisco.

Dr. Carcamo carried out his internship and residency responsibilities in the Department of General Surgery at the University of Texas at Houston Medical School. In addition to his own San Antonio private practice in general surgery, he is currently on active staff at Nix Health Care System, Baptist Hospital Systems, Christus Santa Rosa, and Methodist Health Care System.

Dr. Carcamo is licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners and is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association, Bexar County Medical Society, and the American College of Surgeons.

Born in Managua, Nicaragua, Dr. Carcamo and his wife have three children. He is affiliated with the AIGB network of surgeons who have performed more LAP-BAND surgeries than any other group in the nation with a safety record that is one of the best in the industry.

Keith Wright, M.D.

Dr. Keith Wright is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, Dr. Wright earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1994.

Dr. Wright completed residencies in general surgery at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and affiliated hospitals such as Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas; Children's Medical Center of Dallas; and Veterans Affairs North Texas Health Care System. From 1997 to 1999 he was a post-doctoral surgical research fellow at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and V.A. North Texas Medical Center in Dallas. He also completed training for hernia repair and advanced laparoscopic suturing techniques at the Southwestern Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery.

Dr. Wright has served on the surgical float staff of Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, and in 2000 was an instructor at UT Southwestern Allied Health Sciences School. He currently has a general surgery private practice in San Antonio, in addition to being on active staff at Nix Medical Center and South Texas Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Wright was the 1994 recipient of the Herman A. Barnett Memorial Award in Surgery and Anesthesiology. He is a participant in the Candidate Group of the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons and the Texas Medical Association. He is licensed with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners, and certified by the American Board of Surgery.

A native of Charlotte, N.C., Dr. Wright and his wife have two sons. He is affiliated with the AIGB network of surgeons who have performed more LAP-BAND surgeries than any other group in the nation with a safety record that is one of the best in the industry.
