My Story Well, I have struggled with my weight all my life! I heard the teasing, the jokes, and just seemed to get bigger. I tried most all the diet programs and eventually gained the weight back. My health, energy- level, marriage, and self-esteem seemed to drop with every pound I gained. I was starting to develop symptoms of high BP, diabetes, sleep apnea and a general depression that was leading me to a “dead” end! I decided on the Lap-Band because it was the least invasive bariatric surgery, was reversible if need be, and could be periodically adjusted through “fills” to tailor the weight loss for my individual needs. I originally tried another weight loss center and was very disappointed with the communication, follow up, and level of concern for their patients that I end up quitting and coming to True Results. I was immediately welcomed at True Results, thoroughly informed and encouraged that I could lose the weight and get back on the road to health and vitality. True Results and AIGB have become my new best friends and advocates! Since having the surgery on August 7th of 2007, I have lost over 40 pounds, my energy level now is off the chart, and I feel like I’m in my 20’s again. My self esteem has improved 150% and I actually enjoy getting dressed in the morning and picking out “fun” clothes to wear instead of strategically wearing clothes that will “hide” the weight. The Lap-Band has really been a tool for me to keep the weight off and not feel starved or hungry all the time. I never imagined that I could eat a cup of food and be full! I no longer necessarily live to eat, but now eat to live. I have more time now for other interests in my life as a result; my food bill has decreased while my food quality has increased dramatically.
