My Story I have always been a big girl, having problems with my weight all my life. I have tried almost every diet out there and probably some that ones have never heard of. On my list of Diets that we have to fill out for the paperwork for the Lap-Band, mine was almost 3 pages long. I had been a Yo-Yo dieter, loosing some, gaining more back. I also started having other problems caused by my weight. As my weight went up, I had High Blood Pressure and High Cholesterol. But it didn’t stop with that. I kept gaining. At my highest weight, 310lbs, my Dr. diagnosed me with Type 2 Diabetes, Severe Sleep Apnea, Atrial Fibrillation and Heart Disease. I felt so sick and was so miserable and I was only 42! I had no energy, didn’t feel good about myself and I felt like there was no hope of me getting better. I was a single Mom and the only parent, their Daddy had died with an Aneurysm. I had to do something! I had read about the Lap-Band and all of the other Bariatric Surgeries around. What made me decide that the Lap-Band was for me, is my Dr. that I trust with my life, was doing the Surgery and if he believed in it, then I would go to a Seminar to hear what he had to say about it. My Parents and I went to a Seminar in July of 2005 and on August 22, 2005, I had the Lap-Band. I call it my “New Birthday”! It has totally changed my life! I am not at my goal weight of 150lbs yet, but I am closer than I was in 2005. I have lost 80lbs and lost 10 dress sizes. I was a Size 26, now I wear a Size 16. I don’t remember ever being in a 16! Most of my health problems have disappeared because of losing the weight and as I continue to lose, the rest will go away also. I have more energy and I can exercise, dance and do things that I haven’t ever done in my life because of my weight. It has truly given me a “New Life”! Also, my Parents had the Lap-Band, between the 3 of us, we have lost about 250lbs. It is so good to see them Happier and Healthier and extending their life also. True Results is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I started working here in October, 2007. The caring attitude of the Medical Team and all the Employee’s makes the Patient feel so comfortable and truly cared about when they call in to make their 1st appointment, till you get your last adjustment.
