My Story During my pregnancy, I gained 100 pounds, topping 252 on the scale. Several diets actually provided me with initial success, but lasting long-term weight loss just never happened. When my dad suffered a stroke, I then learned that my mother also had a number of health problems that stemmed from obesity. It was a wake-up call to me. I knew I had to take action about my own weight, or I could ultimately face the same issues my parents had. Now that I have my lap band, I reached my goal in the first year, losing 107 pounds. I now weigh 145. I regained the energy to chase after my child. My business is more successful, too. And most of all, I feel that I've become much more approachable as a slimmer, healthier individual. |
