My Story Having had my lap-band surgery at age 22, I'm younger than the typical patient. I was gaining weight at an alarming rate and had reached over 280 pounds. Plus, there's a history of heart disease in my family. Dieting and exercise just weren't working - and I didn't like the prospect of having a heart attack or other health problems at an early age. In just over a year since my surgery, I've lost about 70 pounds and I love riding my bike again. It is amazing to sit down at the table and push food away and feel satisfied. My father is also planning on having the procedure, and I can't wait to see him have the same kind of success that I have. |
